General information
The origins of the Faculty can be traced to the introduction of the Mining Department on 13th March 1946 at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. In 1949 two new faculties were opened: the Faculty of Mining and the Faculty of Geology who had close links.The faculties moved in 1952 to their present address. Later in 1956 the faculties merged to become the Faculty of Mining and Geology. To date over 7, 000 students have graduated from the Faculty. There are currently 1, 050 students and 163 professors and associates.

The curriculum
There is a four-year period of basic studies (8 semesters). Mine Engineering students are offered six courses (Open Cast Mining, Liquid and natural gas extraction, Underground mining, Mining Mechanization, mineral Treatments and Mining Measurement). Geology students are offered eight courses: Geotechniques, Geophysics, hydrogeology, regional geology and Paleontology, Mineralogy and Crystallography, Petrology and Geochemistry, Exploration of mineral sources).

Pre-examination tasks
Students are obliged to attend lectures, workshops, to do the field work and professional practice. Examinations are taken in the form of written, oral or practice in January, April, June, September and October. Enrollment into the following year is governed by General Act of the Faculty. Certain examinations cannot be transferred to the following year.

Study facilities and equipment
There is an extensive library containing over 150, 000 publications. At the end of each year the Faculty’s latest publications are available. There is a 70-seater Reading Room within the library.

Student organisations and associations
Student Alliance and Student Union are syndicated student organisations promote and protect the rights and interests of students and represents them before the Faculty authorities. Student Alliance is located on the 3rd floor. They organise numerous cultural, entertainment events, humanitarian activities, and international links. There is a sport section which participates in numerous tournaments. Most students from the courses and both Departments of the Faculty are members of the Student Union. The issues of the resolution of students’ union problems and modernization of tuition programmes are the main focus of the Student Union at this Faculty. The Student Union does not at the moment have an office.

General information
The Belgrade University Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering became an independent faculty in 1960. Transport, was previously a department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The Faculty was initially housed in the RGF-or building in Ðušina ulica, then in 1978 it moved to its current address in the district of Voždovcu.
Over the last 45 years over 3.800 students have graduated and there are currently 2.300 students studying at the Faculty with 142 professors and associate academic staff.

The curriculum
The basic period of studies is Five years or ten semesters with the final semester reserved for the final thesis. All the students study a single general course for the first two years and in their third fourth and fifth years attend only their chosen courses. Students select one of the following six courses; Road, Rail, Water and Air Transport, Postal and Telecommunications transport and logistics. The number of examinations are between 33 and 43, depending on the course.

Pre-examination tasks
Students are obliged to attend all lectures, practice, seminars, colloqium and graphic work in order to sit examinations and to certify the semester or year.
The examinations are in the form of written oral and professional practice and are in January, April, June, September and October. The conditions governing enrollment into the next year are set down according to the General Acts of the Faculty. Some examinations may not be moved to the following year.

Study facilities and equipment
There is a library with over 18.750 books, 850 periodicals and newspapers and over 3,900 Graduate, Master and Doctorate Theses. It is located on the fourth floor in room 437. There is also the provision for both computer searches of the library and internet searches and a 60 seater reading room.
The kind and helpful library staff are there to help you every day from 09.00-18.00 hrs. There is a student restaurant, photocopying room and student book shop (open every working day from 11.00-13.00) in the basement of the building. A computer centre with 20 computers, on the third floor- room 328, is available for individual study and is open every day.

The office of the Student Services offers on information on all aspects of study and application forms for credit, stipendium, halls of residence and other administrive requirements.

Student organizations and associations
The Student Vice-Dean and the Student Alliance of the Transport and Traffic Engineering Faculty are located in room 227: telephone: + 381 (0)11 3091 372.
The Student Alliance is a syndicated member of the student organizations who promote and protect the rights of interests of students and represent before the Faculty Authorities and in addition organize the student newspaper, SPIDS student exchange visits, summer and winter camps and assists low-income students. SOSF in addition to its other activities assist students to obtain an Easy travel card – ETC

THE FACULTY OF STOMATOLOGY

General information
The Stomatology Faculty of The University of Belgrade, was opened in 1948 and was the first Stomatology Faculty to be opened in the former Yugoslavia. It is situated within the Clinical Centre complex. The administrative offices are at Dr Subotica 8. To date, 9,370 students have graduated from the Faculty and there are currently 2,200 students and 99 professors at the Faculty.Basic studies last for 5 years.

Pre-examination tasks
Basic studies last for 5 years (10 semesters) and are divided into seven different subjects. Students are not required to produce a thesis in order to graduate. After graduation they may select their field of specialization. The new course comprises of 52 examinations in comparison to the old course requirement of 42. Attendance at classes, examinations and professional practices are compulsory and a pre-condition for sitting examinations. The conditions governing enrollment for the following year are set down in accordance with the General Acts of the Faculty. The Faculty uses several different premises at: Dr Subotica 4 and 13, Rankeova 4 and Gastona Gravijea. Institutute courses; Dr Subotica 1/IV. General Medicine courses:The City Hospital in Zvezdari.
Examinations are held in January-February, April, June, September, October and December.

Student facilities and equipment
There is an extensive Faculty library with reading room, situated on the second floor, at 4 Rankeovoj Street. There are several computers at the disposal of the Faculty students, in Dr Subotica 8 and are available every working day from 11.00 – 13.00 hrs.

The student service provides information on all aspects of studies including Index stamps, courses, examinations and other administrative requirements, and is where applications can be made regarding stipendium, credit and for the halls of residence.

Student organizations and associations
The Student Organization are syndicated and promote and protect the rights and interests of the students. It represents them to the Faculty authorities. The Student Alliance also organizes social events for the students including, excursions, raves, international student exchange visits, seminars and practice etc.
