General
information
Architecture was first taught in this country in
1844 and on 19th June 1846, a School of Engineering was opened.
Subsequently, tuition was held at the Faculty of Technical
Sciences until 1948, when the Faculty of Architecture became
an independent Faculty. Since then, 8,500 students have graduated
from the Faculty. The Faculty offers a 5 year course and there
are currently 1,700 students and 130 professors, assistant
professors and associate professor members of the Academic
staff.

The new curriculum
The Faculty of Architecture is one of the first faculties
in University of Belgrade to have introduced, in the current
school year, a curriculum which is structured according to
the Bologna Declaration. The period of basic studies is three
years for the first stage (6 semesters, 180 ECTS), and two
years for the second stage (4 semesters, 120 ECTS) upon completion
of which students are require to complete their Final Thesis.
Second stage students select one of the following subjects;
Architecture, Urbanistic studies and Architectural Engineering.
Pre – examination tasks
All the subjects are structured according to the
course and the result is a unique, common standard. Attendance
of the courses and practice is obligatory since intensive
work is necessary during the year. The ability to design is
the main aim of the studies; therefore all the modules correspond
to the work in the studio which is the focal point of the
programme. Examinations are taken either orally or in written
form in January, April, June and September. The completion
of seminar and professional practice is a pre-examination
condition.
There are 6 ECTS for elective subjects at the basic study
level. Scientific and curriculum modules are divided amongst
6 subjects.
The Faculty of Architecture has very active and successful
links with The Moscow Institute of Architecture and The Grenoble
Faculty of Architecture. Activities and workshops are organized
periodically with other foreign Institutes.

Only students of the Faculty are allowed to use the library
and they must apply for a library membership card (the student’s
index, identification card and a photograph are required).

information
The country's first Biology Department was opened at The Grand
School, Later, The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
opened a Biology departement and subsequently, in 1995, The
present Faculty of Biology was opened. Since records began
in 1947, 3,500 students have graduated from the Faculty and
there are currently 1,000 students studying at the Faculty.

The curriculum
Basic studies comprise four courses : Biology, Molecular Biology
and Physiology, Professor of Biology and Chemistry, Ecology
and Enviromental Protection.The number of examinations are
from 32 to 35, depending upon the course. The period of Basic
studies is four years (8 semesters). Tuition is held at the
following addresses; Studentski Trg 3, the Botany Institute,
Takovska 43, at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences,
Studentski Trg 16 and at the Faculty of Physics, Cara Dusana
16.
Pre – examination tasks
Students are obliged to attend all lectures and practice in
order to certify their semester or year. Students' pre –
examination tasks are: a pass in partial examinations, tests
and completed seminar and practical works. The examinations
are taken both orally and in written form in January, April,
June, September and October. Conditions for entering the next
academic year are set in accordance to the General Acts of
the Faculty. There are also some conditional examinations
that cannot be transferred to the next year.

There are three libraries, containing a large collection of
books and publications, some editions of which are very rare.There
is also a reading room in each of the libraries.

FB Student Parliament – to protect and promote the rights
and interests of students. it comprises of six boards.
FB Student Union – to protect student rights and interests.
The Union is one of the organizers of a rich cultural life
and entertainment and some other extra – curriculum
activities.

General information
The Faculty for Special Education and Rehabilitation at University
of Belgrade was founded on April 24th 1974. Lectures were
at first held at the College for Special Education and Rehabilitation,
which was located at the site of the present Faculty. Since
1995, the year when computer records were introduced, more
than 5,950 students have graduated from the Faculty. A four
year undergraduate course is offered and in addition, there
are also postgraduate study programmes.
At present,there are 2,010 students and 85 professors and
associates at the Faculty.

The curriculum
The period of undergraduate studies is four years (eight semesters),
upon completion of which, students must pass the final examination
in order to graduate and be awarded their university degree
(ninth semester). The curriculum of Basic studies comprises
six courses: Speech and Language Pathology, Visual Disorders,
Hearing Disorders, Mental Retardation, Motoric Disorders and
Chronic Diseases, Behavioral and Socio-emotional Disorders.
The first two years are the same for all the students regarding
syllabus design and teaching format and an optional course
(one of the above mentioned) is chosen in the third year.
Attendance at lectures and practice is compulsory.
Pre-examination tasks
Students` pre-examination obligations are: a pass in partial
examinations, tests and seminar papers. All examinations are
both written and oral and are taken in January, April, June,
July, September and October. The number of the examinations
varies from 28 to 32, depending on the course taken. The conditions
governing enrollment for the following year are set down in
accordance with the General Acts of the Faculty.
