Student agency for jobs and savings “Self-help”, established in 1931 at the initiative of eminent professors, entrepreneurs and students, represents a forerunner of today’s Student Agency of The University of Belgrade.

This agency is the oldest and one of a kind in the area of student employment. Agency primary objective is providing students with part-time and temporary jobs, which will help them earn additional money and thus increase their standard of living. Hence, its role can be defined as fundamentally social and consequently economic in its nature.
First jobs to be obtained via Agency were door-to-door milk distribution, later on to be diversified into the production of dairy products; textbooks, exam application forms and tax stamp sale, as well as other services rendering (wood cutting, carrying in coal into the houses, household shopping deliveries…).

Nowadays, Agency represents labour-interest organization with more than 16,000 members, doing all kinds of part-time and temporary jobs related to: sales, marketing presentations of the products, PC work, catering, administrative work, physical labour etc.

All students of the University have the right to become members.

Job may be obtained in 2 ways: waiting for ID number which each student acquires from the agency if the student wants agency to find a job, or students find jobs on their own. In former case, information on the ID number which turn is to get a job is available every day in media, while such published jobs are “distributed” from 8 a.m. till 11 a.m. In the latter case when students find jobs on their own, they come to the Agency before they start working so as to receive a referral.

Working hours of the Agency are every working day from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m., the payment is effected from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m., and applications received from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m.
The Agency organizes co-funded summer and winter holidays for its members and provides other programmes for further development (trainings and courses).

The Agency keeps very good relations with a number of student institutions and organizations. Furthermore, the Agency also gives donations to various projects regarding student and University activities.
